For your first time splitting firewood
Batoning refers to the technique of splitting firewood by placing a hatchet or knife blade against the desired splitting point and striking the back of the blade with a mallet, allowing the blade to penetrate the wood and create smaller pieces of firewood.
Since this method does not involve swinging an axe, anyone can easily split the wood to their desired size.
The smaller pieces of firewood created through batoning catch fire easily, making it smoother to start a campfire.
We recommend using it in conjunction with the separately sold "LOGOS Bushcraft Full-Tang Hatchet."
